Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been upgraded by President Bharrat Jagdeo. It has been announced that Shiv will be awarded Guyana's Third Highest National Award, the Cacique Crown of Honor (CCH).
This is a great honor for the Guyanese Batsman who has become the anchor of the West Indies batting since the retirement of the Great Brian Lara. Shiv has produced exceptional results and while his innings have not always led to a West Indies victory, they have all virtually guaranteed that it did not end as a loss for the home side, or a heavy defeat.
Shiv personifies excellence, therefore the President should award this outstanding son of the soil, his country's highest honor.
