Karan Singh: Going....Going....GONE!!!

I don't delight in saying this but Karan Singh had to go. That man was totally unfit to head GWI, or anywhere else for that matter. Good riddance!!

What goes around comes around Karan, you wanted to be like God over there and unlike the auditor that you accuse, you were more the maniacal one going around threatening and terrorizing people at that entity.

Those guys at the donor agencies must be finally happy. The only now is that we replace this piece of waste with a competent, qualified individual to manage this entity and not another washed up party supporter. Another opportunity is here for Guyana to be put first, let us hope that it is not another opportunity squandered.

To be honest, I don't care what you did, I'm just glad that the board finally found the balls to kick you out.

Lil boy and gay man...

Now a few of you might have read a story appearing in Kaietuer News over the weekend about a 'missing' teenager who was found in Victoria, at the home of a gay man and his niece or some madness like that.
The police subsequently arrested the two adults but then released a statement saying that the kid wasn't being held against his will, that he was free to go and that the engaged in sexual activities with the man willingly, and finally buggery charges are likely to be laid soon.

People around the place have been calling and harping about this issue for a few days now, and honestly if not for Janet's death, this story along with Karan being fired would have been the talk of the town. I just want to say this.

The age of consent is 16, so legally the kid cannot give what is not his to have, although he might want to argue that it is his body after all. Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that the lil frigger went to the man home off his own, he fucked with the man off his own, he stayed there off his fucking own and he chose not to return to his home, off his own.

The people who want to talk about this, should understand that part and not look to crucify the blasted antiman. Yes, it was wrong for him to have sex with an underage kid, no question about that, but at the same fucking time, people need to stop behaving as if this lil frigger is some angel because he clearly isn't. He had run off to Surinam also and I'm sure he would have needed permission for that as well.

And now, unfortunately buggery is still a crime so they are going to face music for that, however, abduction charges? gimme a fucking break. The kid was going and coming as he pleased, that isn't abduction, he obviously wanted to go back. Whatever he was getting there was good enough to keep him coming back. Now then, probably the only charge that should be instituted was that of statutory rape, because at the end of the day, he still is just 15!

What people need to realize is that these teenagers aren't so innocent as we would like tothink, many of them are quite capable of making their own decisions and they do, even though sometimes they are not aware of all the consequences of their actions. However as adults we also have a responsibility to these kids. What the man did with this kid was wrong, even if the kid wanted it, it was wrong. My argument though will be and this is my belief, that the man alone should not be cast as the villan in this story...he isn't!

The biggest joke of the year

I know, in a time of mourning, we're not supposed to be laughing but seriously, how the heck can a person not laugh at that ridiculous amount of money given to single parents to assist with day care expenses.

W
hat a joke, what a big fucking joke. This particular minister I'm sure pays much more than this daily for lunch. $1000 monthly for single parents means nothing, it is worth nothing. This is beyond insulting and embarrassing from the Jagdeo regime.

It shows just how detached the ruling class is from the working class that they actually think that this pittance is anywhere near something meaningful.
And it gets better too, the parent must have two kids in day care and be working for less than #30, 0o0 monthly. Now isn't that just the biggest bundle of nonsense you've heard in a while?

Day care costs $4000 per kid (according to the Government's calculation),that's $8000 just gone there...whoosh! 22 grand left and there is still NIS, VAT, RENT, GPL to be paid also, not to mention food...whoppi, that thousand sure does help a lot.

This government is so thoughtful, sympathetic and caring eh? Thank you Good Lord, I don't depend on the state for any financial assistance or I really would be in a bad state.

Farewell to Fmr President, Janet Jagan.

Now the last time I wrote about good ole Janet, I seemed to imply that the end was near for the Grand dame of Guyanese politics. I must let it be known, that unlike some people with monies invested in CLICO, I was not in possession of inside information.

On a serious note now. There will be a lot of ramblings going on about Janet in all corners of the country for the new few days but regardless of one ideologies, that should not distract from the fact that Mrs Jagan was a monumental figure, who has cemented her place in Guyanese History. It is up for scholars to debate whether her mark was a positive one or not. She has left much behind to make that assessment an easy one.

Her family and her party has big void at the moment, one that will never be filled but Guyana will also be left with an even bigger void. Mrs. Jagan died taking with her too many secrets about this land of ours. That should not have been, she owed it to the Guyanese people to provide a truthful account of history as she lived it. One thing is certain however, Mrs. Jagan for all that she was and what she wasn't would never have approved of the direction that the PPP has taken, and it is well known that she was personally in opposition to some policies coming out of the OP.

Anyways, now ain't the time for this, let us join most of the country in mourning our former President. Sincerest of condolence are offered to her family and her party, it is indeed a terrible loss. May Her Soul Rest In Peace.

Janet, aka Slipper Granny, Passes Away

Former President of Guyana, Mrs Janet Jagan, has passed away. May her soul rest in peace. She and Cheddi are probably looking down on Guyana and talking about how Bharrat has messed us up.

It's weird though ... Bitch Please! posted THIS article a month ago. It's as if the event in thought was casting its shadow. Hmm, I wonder ...

Am sure Janet's memory won't soon be forgotten ... NCN would never allow that.

New Thriving Main St. Launches

So last night was the grand opening for the New Thriving Chinese Restaurant. A so-called red carpet affair that supposedly had invitees such as government officials, business execs. and who's-whos of the Guyanese community.
I must say that the Chinese went all out with this affair. From piled-high buffet tables of food and an open bar with all the booze you can drink to Chinese usher girls brandishing warm and inviting smiles, the evening was rather nice. I was lucky to be invited by a friend who was told to bring a friend.
Highlights of the night -
- All-you-can-eat Chinese buffet menu
- All-you-can-drink booze and drinks
- The cultural shows (including tassa drumming, steel pan, chinese lion dance and a few others)

Lowlights of the night -
- The slippery tiles on the balcony (Fuck, the Chinese can be so friggin cheap at times. The least they could've done is get some non-skid tiles.) People were falling left right and centre.
- Horribly dressed people wearing everything from their mother's bra to some old horse hair they dug up outta their 'grip'
- And of course - ugly, need-to-get-to-a-dentist, old chinese men wearing the cheapest of clothing and stooping in some corner smoking a Bristol

Apart from this, the evening went well. People should at least visit this place once, if not for the food, then just to check out the place. It's a really wonderful building.

Kaieteur News is asking a question...

So this is a fairly simple question that Kaieteur News is asking however the answer is even simpler.

NO ONE!!!

We are never going to get anywhere, if these situations are allowed to continue. The driver of this vehicle that caused this light to damage should face the consequences. Pay for it or go to jail, simple as that. For too long, too many persons have gotten away with this and others but now the authorities need to put a stop to this nonsense.

At the end of the day, this is public property and if damaged, the state must be compensated for such. Can you imagine destroying something for the American Government and trying to get away with it? No, No it doesn't happen there...it shouldn't happen here either.

What's is some people's problem with Nicky's

While scouring the Stabroek News website, I came across another letter complaining about the noise that comes from Nicky's Fish Shop in Campbellville and I had to ask myself, What the Fuck is some people's problem? Do they have an issue with people trying to make a living?

Several Friday or Saturday nights myself along with I. Gots. Class, Vice or Virtues and a few other friends can be found at the fish shop and I have to say, apart from the fish and service being quite good, the place is a fabulous place to hang out.

Since its inception, this business has faced complaints and criticisms from those in the area and regardless of the amount of changes and progress that they make, it would appear as though some people just want them to pack up and leave. There is growing resentment towards the elderly woman who owns the property (not the business) from her 'neighbors'.

Initially I would concede that Nicky's played a lot of loud music on a lot of nights but after issues were made of it, steps were taken. Karaoke night (my personal favorite) was toned down a lot, the renting of a stereo system every weekend was discontinued and the music itself was played at a lower decibel, yet those wretches were complaining. The question must then be asked, is there a vandetta against Nicky's? Even the gas retailer immediately next to this entity refuses to sell the people gas (well apparently that ass for a softball cricketer has a problem with black people).

I am not saying that Nicky's is free to do as they want, but come on people be realistic. It is a business and for that type of business, music is important. It is not as if they are playing it loudly every night. In fact, loud music there wasn't present for a while but it was just recently that there was a Guiness promotion that is now drawing all these complaints.

Some people should just shut the hell up, drink a Advil PM and go sleep, and if they don't want to take the pill I'll tell them this, If they really wanted to sleep, they would find their asses in bed and sleep! I have a damn neighbor that plays music late at night, but I don't let that bastard bother me, when is time to sleep...I sleep. You people should try that sometime...it actually works!

Halo...No not the Beyonce Song.

I'm sure many of you would have noticed this, and of course those never-see people would have rushed to the phones to spread the news, just like they would with the sweetest of gossip.
This spectacular occurrence was a joy to behold. I know though that a few people in our mist was a little bit scared and worried. Probably thought the world was coming to an end or something and they'd have to start accounting for their sins, especially those politicians.

Karan Sent on Leave...Let's hope he doesn't return

Hmmmmmm has Mr. Singh been stealing water? If not water, then what could have caused him to be sent on leave?

This man has completely mismanaged GWI...twice. The stories of his work ethics or lack thereof would shock you. The amount of workers that he fired or forced to resign is staggering. Can you imagine some workers allegedly had to feed this goat crackers.

One can only hope that him being sent on leave now is a prelude to him being sent away permanently. One thing is sure, the people at the donor agencies would just be bursting with cum in their pants if they never have to see Karan again.

Notch up another accolade for Chanderpaul.

From the Guyana Times:

New Garden Street is now Shiv Chanderpaul Drive

As Guyana continues to celebrate our world- class cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the son of the soil will have a street being named after him.

On Thursday, Wayne wright Orderson, Director of Information Technology at City Hall, made the announcement that starting Saturday, the stretch of road between Church Street and South Road presently called New Garden Street will be renamed as Shiv Chanderpaul’s Drive.

This initiative of Mayor Hamilton Green will be undertaken with the blessings of the council and President Bharrat Jagdeo.

Last year, Almond Street was renamed as Lance Gibbs Street while there is also a Clive Lloyd Drive in Georgetown.

Chanderpaul was named ICC Player of the Year while the West Indies Cricket Players Association named him Cricketer of the Year.

He has also held our coveted title of Sportsman of the Year for the past five consecutive years.

Another special honor for this very special man. If anyone has any doubts just special of a cricketer Shiv is, then that magnificent over yesterday should have erased them all. The usual

Congrats Shiv, all these awards and accolades are truly well deserved. You have done exceptionally well to make an entire nation proud. A nation now tries to show its gratitude.

Some things in this land is just plain ole wrong

Some things are simply amazing, like Chanderpaul smashing 26 off Harmison at the Stadium yesterday. Other times, some things are just simply mind boggling and ridiculous.

I must confess that in the area of law, I know nothing but I have a sense of ethics and morality and as such I was shocked, confused, dazed and appalled when I read that Justice Patterson, sentenced two men for 8 years in prison and another man received three years probation for the killing of another man.

This just seems like a blatant miscarriage of justice. Taking a life is just that, taking a life and these men did that and they should be punished accordingly, remember justice must not only be done, it must also appear to be done and really in this instance, it would appear as though ‘justice’ is on a vacation. I am not advocating for the state to take theirs but can this honorable judge really believe that 8 years is an adequate punishment for this crime? These men tied up a man and beat him to death for heaven’s sake and in 8 years they will walk away free men, able to continue their lives. For whatever life the deceased lived, whatever wrongs he did, he was not supposed to be killed

True, this was manslaughter and not murder but another question must be asked. Why does the DPP accept so many manslaughter pleas? Are there not competent lawyers there that can prosecute a murder charge? Or is the police not capable of doing proper investigations to facilitate a murder trial.

And then to add insult to serious injuries, the third accused was given three years probation for being involved in this crime. Are you freaking kidding me judge? Three years probation? Nonsense of the highest value! Many men have gone to jail for less! Some people, mostly young adults would receive five years probation for stealing (simple larceny) and here we have a HIGH COURT judge giving three years for being an accessory to murder/manslaughter. How wrong is that?

For too long, too many persons have been getting off lightly from the courts. Too many murder accused plead guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter and this is a practice that needs to be attended to. Serious questions must be asked of the DPP chambers

Does Guyana have a sentencing policy in effect for the judiciary? If we don’t then the judges clearly aren’t using it. If we don’t then it is about God Damn Freaking Time that we got one.

What Bharrat has asking and denying lately....he has nerve

Let us examine two statements coming from the President recently.

Firstly in the Guyana Times, he is quoted saying, "Source of Clarke information
will never be revealed – Jagdeo"

And on the same day, in the Guyana Chronicle "
U.S. should share Roger Khan evidence with Guyana -- -- President urges"

Is this not blatant double standards and hypocrisy from the Guyanese leader? He is asking the US Government to share their information with him, yet he refuses to share. Imagine the audacity of this man, he sure does have nerve if not balls. Imagine growing up with him. He appears as though he was one of those 'hungish', glutton, stingy kids who always want but never want to give.

Cricket without rain...not in Guyana

The rain has arrived and interupted the cricket. Now really, who is surprised at this? It wouldn't be cricket in Guyana without some rain.
Let's hope the rain doesn't stay too long.

On another note though, why are members of the West Indies team wearing white tape over the Digicel logo on their uniforms?
We'll wait and see

Have a blast at the cricket today

So the day for the cricket is finally here and from all the pre-game buzz, it is definitely going to be a full house at the Providence Stadium for the first international one day match since the disastrous 2007 world cup.

England with their one win on this ground is one win ahead of the West Indies here, a stat that the local boys will look to correct by the end of this weekend. For those who will be at the game today (myself included), let's hope we have a great, incident free game of cricket while we are a part of the event that unites us all.

I hope that the Dj at the stadium shows up with the appropriate music today. No, I'm not talking about that 'daggering' crap. I mean "London bridge is falling down" and "We are the champions" by the tradewinds. It's been too long since the people in the caribbean have really had an opportunity to sing that song with pride.
Have a blast at the cricket...see ya there!

Sita Ramlall, is visa-less

My My My Sita, what have you been up to? naughty, naughty naughty girl.
Anyways, you're in good company, do not forget that the 'honorable' (using that word loosely) minister, Clement Rohee had his visa revoked also.
I guess that Ms. Ramlall won't be heading to get more 'lipo' done anytime soon.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul gets an Upgrade from Bharrat

Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been upgraded by President Bharrat Jagdeo. It has been announced that Shiv will be awarded Guyana's Third Highest National Award, the Cacique Crown of Honor (CCH).

This is a great honor for the Guyanese Batsman who has become the anchor of the West Indies batting since the retirement of the Great Brian Lara. Shiv has produced exceptional results and while his innings have not always led to a West Indies victory, they have all virtually guaranteed that it did not end as a loss for the home side, or a heavy defeat.

Shiv personifies excellence, therefore the President should award this outstanding son of the soil, his country's highest honor.

What is the matter with some people. They complain just because they can

Dear Editor,

It is really frustrating to use Digicel’s ‘Free After 3,’ and get cut off after a few minutes; You call again and you’re cut off again. To make it worse, you get a text telling you to text a number to win fabulous prizes. However, these texts cost fifty dollars each. I called Digicel’s Customer Care several times and was given some stupid excuses − You pressed a wrong button, or your party must have hung up on you, etc. The government and the PUC should do something about this practice. Consumers must get what they pay for. Most people do not bother to check, so they are not aware that there is a problem. More people should check to see what they’re getting.

Yours faithfully,
M S Baksh
Editor’s note

We sent a copy of this letter to the Public Relations Officer of Digicel for any comments he might wish to make, and received no response.

Now look at this wretch complaining. True the system is not 100%, there are times when you get errors. On any networks, calls are dropped from time to time. No mobile company can claim to be an exception.

Maybe this person should check their blasted phone for the problem, maybe your friend isn't getting a proper signal on their phone, or maybe their party just cannot bear to listen to their annoying squeak of a tone for three minutes. Why not provide Digicel with your address and ask them for your own tower...wretch!

Yes Digicel does offer promotions using their text messaging service but terms and conditions apply. EVERYBODY knows that, and EVERYBODY knows that those messages cost more to send than a regular text message. Oh shucks, imagine cross dressing is a crime but stupidity isn't. I realize that you like things either free or cheap and as much as you get a lot of those from Digicel, you still want to win fabulous prizes for either free or cheaply. Be realistic Cheapskate! It is a marketing strategy. Cellink is currently doing it also, only thing is, their prize of a ticket to the Bollywood/Chutney/Soca party isn't so fabulous but still they are charging 'premium rates'.

And one final point to note is that the CSR's at Digicel aren't going to tell you nonsense like you pressed the wrong button...that's just nonsense, lying nonsense if you asked me.

No I am not the PR officer that Stabroek News sent this letter to.

Digicel's at it again

I must say, Digicel must really be bustin' their brains to come up with a good campaign to counter GTT's $1 a minute promo. Unfortunately to me, their latest gimmick of having music as the ring indicator when calling someone is a failed attempt at matching GTT's current promo. Even the TV commericial currently airing on the stations proves this point. It's just not impressive to call someone and have to hear music at the ring indicator. It just might confuse the caller that they've reached voicemail and thus prompting them to hang up ... c'mon, how often do you leave a voicemail for someone?
I for one am not paying money for such a stupid service. If I wanted to hear music, I'd turn on the radio or just download the blasted thing.
C'mon Digicel, stop being so petty and do something good. You're really letting us down.

(Cultured note)
Class, I am going to disagree with you on this one. I really think that Digicel's Free Night Talk has done exceptionally well against dollar talk. This latest promotion I don't believe is aimed at Cellink's dollar talk, but rather it is just a fun service from Digicel.
I will agree with you those is that this new service makes no sense to pay for the damn tune. If I wanted to hear the song, I'd just blue tooth the entire thing. Rest assured, it will be gone shortly.

Kwame replies to Hammie...

Hamilton Green is a virtual nuisance
- Kwame McCoy
THE following is the full text of a statement issued on Sunday evening by Office of the President press official Mr. Kwame McCoy expressing his sadness at comments made by Mayor of Georgetown Mr. Hamilton Green on his (McCoy’s) appointment to the Rights of the Child Commission.

An edited version of the statement was carried in yesterday’s edition of the Chronicle. However, the ‘full text’ of the statement is as follows:

It was with a tinge of sadness I read the comments by Mayor Hamilton Green on my appointment to the Rights of the Child Commission. I’ll be the first to admit that I have unmatched experience and ability as Mayor Hamilton Green does in ‘garbage’ management.

Imagine as difficult as it is, a rancorous, condescending, erasable, crass and contentious Hamilton Green attempting to comment on my character and suitability for such appointment.

I am a young man who has been taught to have respect for my Elders, and I am indeed saddened that someone of his "ilk" would state as a matter of public record to quote: "He does not have the calibre to be positioned in such a crucial arena", and “ the PPP Government can surely find other ways to reward those who seem to be the lineal descendants of Esau who sold a birthright for a mess of pottage”, as well as the mendacity of your statement about my employment as your Personal Assistant does not surprise me, since you have been known as someone who twists the truth.

Let us set the records straight. Did you graduate from Queen’s College? The answer is no but your profile states "educated at the prestigious Queen’s College". How long did you attend Queen’s College?

Rakesh Rampertab in his article " BEG, BRIBE AND BULLY, writes, “ When a society degenerates, it does so slowly at first and then steadily thereafter. As people become more and more desperate previously held social values begin to plummet, and this allows for vice to assume the role of normalcy (if not virtue) with little complains from civilians. This is part of the degradation that has happened to Guyana, which made it possible for oddities to occur -- such as Hamilton Green becoming Mayor of Georgetown, even though he is publicly accused of having a disreputable past and responsible for many ill-reputed public incidents.

It must be noted that I have never killed, sexually abused and or operated criminal enterprises. Neither have I had unquestionable relationships with contractors or has ever stolen any property belonging to the State. No businessman has ever granted me the favour of a new car in return for eliminating his property off of the rates and taxes register at City Hall.

Mr. Hamilton Green you are a virtual nuisance and I strongly suggest that you continue to do penance for all of the wrongs you have done from the 1960s to present day. In keeping with this season of Lent, I forgive you.

Can any of you imagine someone close to President Obama speaking like this? Anyways, like his boss Kwame has no respect for the office or the position he holds. Not surprising though, it's not like he worked to acquire it, it was gifted to him and some people have no appreciation for things that they didn't acquire off their own.

With all these accusations that Kwame is implying against Green, it begs the question, why was nothing done? take the evidence to the police and let them deal with the matter? but again, like his boss, they prefer to sit on information then conveniently mention them to suit their best interests.

One thing is for certain though, mess not with dem anti-men, they sure can buse. Kwame really throw down on Green in this one. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Gay Man Scorned eh?

So you've thought about getting a 'bead' for your dick? READ THIS.

Found this article on StabroekNews.com and just writhed in pain. Read the article here.

What the Fuck was he thinking? I wonder what was the sharp object that he used.

A quick question

Just wondering -- do people actually eat Golden Harvest Bread? Isn't it weird to still be seeing that truck delivering that thing that Banks DIH is supposedly calling bread?
Lord ... deliver that person who actually buys a loaf and help him to understand that you were, in no way, involved in producing such a disgrace.

Get rid of those markings on mini-buses

Monday is the deadline for removal of all markings on public transportation. A deadline I hope that the police enforces.
Some auto designers and graphic artists are already complaining about how this measure is going to negatively impact on their businesses and their survival all together. Some have even gone further to suggest that inspirational messages be allowed usage on public transport. I find this utterly amusing. All these years they barely had a care for inspirational words, now they want them. Let them do without!

One particular graphic artist is quoted in the times as saying “One mini-bus operator would spend over $100,000 for designs for us to do on the bus and now that money is gone.” Well I guess now we know which are of those expensive, essential expenses that mini-bus owners and operators are faced with. Expenses which make it necessary to hike the fares whenever the cost of fuel marginally increases.

Another crackdown that the police should be enforcing is that of no playing of music while on a journey. The lewd, vulgar music that has engulfed our society needs to be removed. Like a parasite, it needs to be squashed. In mini-buses, music promoting hate, discrimination, vulgarity and violence knows no bounds. For a while, the police tried to remove loud music from buses, an effort which has never been successful thus the new approach of getting rid of the music entirely. It’s about damn time.

Society has denigrated into one big vulgar, lawless party and order needs to be restored, and this is probably a good first step but now even in this regard, some operators are calling for inspirational music to be allowed in public transportation at a moderate decibel. The police should be saying NO NO NO!!! What defines moderate? How about inspirational? For some people ‘daggering’ is an inspiration, are we talking about that kind of inspirational? The point is, there is no definite meaning of what constitutes inspirational music, and as sure as I am that Robert Corbin is never going to be president, I am sure that mini-bus operators will flaunt the vague meaning of inspiration. Not to mention, to allow them to play some kind of music will eventually allow to play what they want to play and then we are just back where we started, so really the best thing to do is to allow NO music. Some people might not be happy, those of whom enjoy the music but now Ipods, Mp3 players are there for them, entertain yourself and in the process you won’t be inconveniencing or annoying the person(s) next to you.

Guyana's oldest man still has a dream

Guyana's oldest living male is 109 years old. WHOA! Congratulations to him but personally I don't harbor a wish to live that long, but good for him.

The cool thing about Mr. Sonny Hendricks is even at his advanced age he is still very much active, tending to his farm in region nine.

For a man who has lived this long, last seen Georgetown 40 years ago, he still has a desire to visit the Capital city once again with his 90 year old wife. I am sure there are some people who can make this dream come true, he sure does deserve it.

There will be blood

Apparently uncle Freddie is really riled up about Sattaur's recent utterance about his "mansion", that has got the frugal professor on the hunt and from his Sunday's column you'd think he's is out for blood.
Mr. Sattaur’s own premises in “Pradoville” must be part of the comparison. If Mr. Sattaur fails in his endeavour, then he must resign completely from the GRA. Let us see what Mr. Sattaur is made of.
Yea Freddie, go get em!! The horrible thing though, is that Sattaur ain't going to be accepting Freddie's challenge because he knows he has nothing to stand on. Sattaur is just like Jagdeo, always ranting off with hardly anything to back up his words.

Why is Sattaur stalling about the Polygraph test

Well now it seems as if Kurshit Sattaur has taken an issue with Freddie's house in Turkeyen. I wonder why so many persons seem to eventually have an issue with Freddie's house. Personally, I am not always a fan of Mr. Kissoon but I don't believe that many Guyanese are honestly of the belieft that he acquired his home through illegal ways.

For all his ramblings which sometimes annoys even his most faithful readers, few will doubt his patritiosm and unlike many in the goverment and society at large, Freddie does not come across as the corrupt individual that Sattaur is insinuating.
He should just shut the hell up and do the freaking lie detector test...what does he have to hide? is he afraid of being asked about his sexual preference? just stop stalling and get the freak on with it.

Bringing Link 25 to TV

The Link is being held over once again, this time for an additional four dates but this particular letter writer wants the show to be aired on television. It's not like I have any say in the matter but if I could have, I would have said...NO NO NO, Bitch Please...HELL FREAKING NO!!!

By the end of the second held over, this show would have completed more than 12 productions and if anyone really wanted to see it they would have found their lazy asses to the venue. There were more than enough opportunities to do so and in the age of $3000 and $20000 tickets the cost of Link 25 was more than affordable.

The producers of this show must have incurred heavy costs to bring this production to theatre so they must see the rewards of it. It was their hard work; weeks and months of laborious work went into this production, so it is not fair to ask them to hand it over for free to people who had no appreciation to pay to see it in the first place.

Forgive the absence...

Things have been a little bit crazed over here for a while and it made updating the blog a bit difficult. Normalcy is once again on the horizon...things will be back to ok soon. Thanks for your patience.

The nonsense that polygraphing has become...

So the President is going to review the use of polygraph testing in Guyana. Well he should! I agree that the tests should be conducted however the questions being asked have little or no relevance to the person's abilities to perform their jobs honestly and effectively.

Why should this government or any government for that matter, want to know my sexual preference? that is bullshit to the highest. It is after all, MY fucking sexual preference so why should that be a question someone at the GRA answer. It makes no sense.

It also makes no sense for the head of the GRA to not be tested. He should have been the first. The heads of these agencies should not be exempt, they are not above suspicion or corruption.

By the way Mr. President, when is the Cabinet going to be tested?

I'm worried about Uncle Freddie...

Uncle Freddie is losing it, and in his most recent column he himself sheds some light on the matter. Not to worry though, Freddie is still one of the best out there.
My wife and I dressed, got into the car and we pulled off. We hadn’t moved ten feet from our gate when my wife said that she wanted to get out, to check the address on the invitation card.
We were going to a site in Republic Park to a function to celebrate the 80th birthday of Yesu Persaud. She returned to the car smiling profusely. We were attending the birthday bash one week before it was due.

Trip down memory lane...

Remember these?

Harpy Eagles at the Guyana Zoo

In today’s Chronicle, there was a rather nice feature about the two Harpy eagles that can be found in the zoo. It appears as though these harpy’s have been living together at the zoo for the past 57 years (imagine birds can live together longer than our president and his ‘wife’).

Anybody who has seen these eagles though in the last few years know that they look sick, struggling, mellow, without life it appears but what can one expect after being forced to live in such a small cage for so long. I can't even begin to think when last it was since either of those birds flew. Imagine being a bird and not able to fly, that is what we have subjected these animals to.

These are proud, strong birds that thrive in the wild and if the zoo was serious about making them an attraction to the public and taking care of the birds, then long ago they would have gotten them a bigger, better cage. As it is now and have been for a while, these birds are punishing. The just stand on their perch all day and stare. Harpy’s can be found in this country, why can’t we get a few younger looking birds in the zoo (not in that small cage of course)

I’m not sure when, but didn’t the German people give a ton of money to provide a proper habitat for these majestic creatures. Can the nice people over at the zoo say something about that? The current cage apart from being too small is way at the front of the zoo where the noise and traffic are definite disturbances to them.

When an animal is taken from the wild, and placed in a zoo, they should at least be placed in a habitat that appears as their natural home or as close to it as possible. What then are those frickin birds doing there? I’m sure a harpy in the Kanuku mountains doesn’t have to put up with constant, noisy traffic all day that those at the Guyana zoo has to endure all day, every day for over 50 years.

The zoo needs an urgent make-over; its standards have been allowed to fall for too long. For all the talk about the great animals that can be found in the land, the Guyana zoo is a horrible let down.

A Letter to Kaieteur News about Digicel

Ok, so I was reading some letters sent to Kaieteur News and this particular one drew my attention. The caption reads -- 'This round goes to Digicel'. The letter then goes on to talk about physically challenged people competing against able-bodied people. How the fuck does that in anyway relate to Digicel?

Now, that got me a bit on the edge, but the last few lines got me really riled up.
Digicel, I have to give this round to you with your advertisement featuring Henry Rodney and Sherry Ann Dyal. It was an ideal and wise decision to use this particular pair. I enjoy every second of the ad.
Henry Rodney was a wise decision? Really? Why would Sherry Ann dream of talking to him?

Then came this line -

Another impressive drama character who would create an impact is Sonia Yarde. If she is available, maybe you should seriously consider her for your next promo ad.
Sonia may have done well in the Singer TV commercials, but would Digicel really want the former fraud-committing, jail-time-spending woman-in-law in their ads? I THINK NOT.

Come on Kaieteur, this is no U.S of A

Now Now Now, oh you good people are Kaieteur News, you all should know this is no US and the US laws certainly don't apply here, even if it could have, Jagdeo would have made sure they didn't if they don't serve his purpose.

Christopher Ram wants a blog investigated...Bitch Please!

Now it seems as though Christopher Ram has a problem with a blog...what the fuck is this now. Blog hunting season? everybody is gunning for the bloggers these days. Damn you Living Guyana (now dead).

I guess the police top priority might be to hunt down bloggers all across the country at the whims and fancies of every complaint that they receive from citizens.
That particular blog in question isn't going anywhere though, so Ram can complain all he wants.
He has been called all sort of names by Kwame and Prem, been slandered so many times, insulted by the president and he has never complained...anyways as I said, it's hunting season and bloggers are the targets...this wretch from Bitch Please better watch himself, he might be wanted next...

GTT Sucking Blows because of Digicel....

Well it was bound to happen. GTT has seen their revenue decreasing with the entry of Digicel to the local market two years ago.
It was reported that for the past fiscal year, GTT saw their revenue decline US$700,000. I imagine that Gregory Dean (digicel ceo) and his staff are having a ball with this news.

What did GTT expect though, after years of providing crappy service to the people of this country and charging excessively for those services. People flocked to Digicel like the local girls (and boys) chasing after rich white men and this is the result.

I guess this is probably the main reason why they are not going to relinquish their monopoly on international calling. Can you imagine how much worse those statements would look if they weren't receiving all that money from international calling.

Some pay might feel bad for GTT but I don't. For years they were making an abundance of money off the Guyanese people for a lousy service, money that found it's way to that white man in Boston. 100 % Guyanese??...Hell No!!!, it's actually 80% American!!!

Hospitals refuse Clico Cards and Jagdeo's words

"Private hospitals refuse CLICO insurance cards"

Yes, Mr. President, this is what people think of your guarantee that CLICO policyholders pensions and savings are protected.

Clive Lloyd being sued...

Clive Lloyd sued for $9.5M

Clive Lloyd, former West Indies Test Captain, is being sued by contractor Kailie Ramjohn of Lot 43 Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown, for breach of contract.

The matter was filed at the Commercial Court Division in the Supreme Court, Georgetown, by Attorney Jerome Khan on Wednesday.

Ramjohn is claiming $9,556,798 as money being an amount due, owing and payable by Clive Lloyd for the construction work done on a two-flat apartment complex at Lot 150 Crown Street, Georgetown.

The Plaintiff claims that he entered into the contract to construct a new two-flat residential apartment building for $35 million.

During the process of the construction, Mr. Clive Lloyd ordered, authorized, and approved additional works to be done on the building.

These included works that were excluded from the contract that formed the total cost to complete the project.

In the end the final cost was $45 million.

Ramjohn claimed that he only received $36.9 million.

So when I first saw the headline of this article I thought that Mr. Lloyd was being sued by his former wife for support or something, but it turned out to be this instead.

I don't have much to say about this, except...HOW MUCH OF THAT MONEY THE CONTRACTOR PAID TAXES ON??

The GRA should use artiles and information like these to question individuals about their income and the amount of tax that they paid. There isn't anyone that can honestly tell me that this contractor paid appropriate taxes to the governement and here he is, suing because he was robbed, while at the same time he's robbing the government.

Bakewell is at it again...

The man who brought us Bakewell bread, the roti hut and Edy's ice-cream has now signed documents to bring popular coffee house, Rituals Coffee to Guyana. He also announced plans to have a new food court opened at the site of the now closed Republic Bank on Savage Street, have a roti hut and Edy's location at the airport among other plans...Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Mr. Nasir of bakewell deserves a tremendous amount of praise for all that he has done in the development of Guyana and this is the latest sign of just important the private sector is to this country.

Rihanna might indeed be Guyanese....

For a while, like most of us love to do, we claimed and believed that Rihanna was of Guyanese Heritage. Isn't that just like us, trying to pick up stars from anywhere? it's annoying at times, all the time actually. Who the skunt cares if some man/woman who has never touched this land, maybe not even heard of Guyana has family or parents from this land. That doesn't make them Guyanese and we shouldn't be running crazy trying to claim them. It is sickening.

Well for a while, people were saying that the Barbadian songstress actually hailed from Guyana and I'm one of those who cussed out and rejected that notion. However, recent events have me thinking that I might have been wrong.

So she took a mauling from her boyfriend, reported it to the police then after a few days reunited with said boyfriend. Now this is pure, downright, typical Guyanese behavior. This is what most of the abused women of this country do; they take the licks then get back together with their abuser shortly thereafter. Rihanna is a role model for so many girls and women around the world and her most recent actions sets a bad example to those who admire and look up to her.

One thing that is very and exceptionally different about this situation though is that unlike Guyana where after reporting the crime the woman can withdraw them, it doesn't happen like that elsewhere. Rihanna reported this to the police, they investigated and subsequently charged Chris Brown and even though she has now reunited with Chris, he is still going to face charges for his crime. A crime is a crime.

In Guyana, the man and woman would get back together, she withdraws the charges and that would have been the end of it but in other places if the police find that someone has abused you, they are going to charge that individual, with or without your help. In Guyana, if we are serious about protecting women from abuse over here, we need to get rid of the system where the aggrieved party can withdraw charges against someone. It doesn't make sense, then again few things in this country do.

Justice for the alleged torture victim...not likely

So one of the guys who were allegedly tortured by the members of the joint services made his report to the police, for them to conduct an investigation...

Among the allegations made are:
*ranks held him by his pants and dragged him down the road
*slapped him several times
*forced him to lie on his belly and forced to crawl.
*put wood on his shoulder and stood on him for several minutes before shoving the barrel of a gun in his ears
*he was placed to lie down in an ant nest for several minutes.

Remember the last set of torture allegations, according to the authorities they amount to 'roughing up', so there is very little to indicate that this will be different. The people that are accused of the crime are the very ones that are conducting the investigation and if it's not them, then it's their friends. Absolute nonsense in this land of glorified nonsense. Isn't there an independent body established to hear and investigate claims of this nature? It should not be left to members of the same fraternity to investigate their colleagues.

For those of you who missed it though, the link show is being held over on Sunday and Monday nights. This production has a wonderful chapter called 'Torture". It give a realistic opinion of what the authorities idea of 'torture' is.

A Lesson for GTT...

For our Blue Cell phone company, I'm going to offer a lesson in adjectives today, especially in their comparative and superlative forms.

Now the first word is. GOOD. Comparative Word would be BETTER (obviously because we are comparing between two entities) and the superlative form would be BEST.
So the progression goes: Good, Better, Best (we know this since primary school though, thanks to Junior English Revised)

Second word is, and this is easier than the previous one. STRONG. The comparative word would be STRONGER and the superlative form of the word would be STRONGEST.
This progression goes: Strong, Stronger, Strongest.

Now keeping that in mind, we come to the point of this confabulation of ours. There are two cell phone companies in this country being GTT and Digicel. Digicel's slogan is "The Bigger Better Network" Whilst GTT proclaim themselves to be "Best Network, Strongest Signal"...WRONG WRONG, WRONG GTT!!! Simple primary school english tells you that you are wrong. If you can't even get your slogan right, (which is probably one of the easiest tasks to get done) how the heck are you intending to get your entire network right? The proper phrasing should be "Better Network, Stronger Signal", GTT Ya hear, you guys are setting a bad example, fix it!

Most grade 5 students know that when you are comparing two things, the comparative form of the word is used (Ok, granted kids might not know the rationale for using them, BUT they know that when there are only TWO, the second form is used) so if school kids can get this right, why the heck can't the folks at GTT get that right? are they that starved for intelligence and simple English skills over there that they cannot get a few words grammatically correct?
GTT should be ashamed of themselves.

Some people are not fans of Digicel but one cannot deny that they really do pay meticulous attention to even the small things. GTT, still leaves much to be desired.

Bharrat is such a hypocrite...

In this land, it appears as though Mr. Jagdeo is the only official who can speak and speak freely, even if he is indulging in hypocrisy as he frequently does.
This time he has leveled some pretty heavy accusations, accusations lacking in evidentiary support against the opposition AFC party as being linked to individuals in the illegal drug trade...excuse me Bharrat but WHATTTTTT??

Does the name Roger Khan mean anything to you Mr. President? The known drug lord that your government allegedly gave permission to purchase spy equipment, the same Roger Khan that aided your government in the 2002-2004 crime free that threatened the very existence of life in Guyana.
Talk about hypocrisy.

Who thinks this is the real reason Living Guyana Died?

With the CLICO fiasco now firmly in the public spotlight, the issue of blogging has become very popular and controversial. By now most persons are aware of the two flawed entries that Living Guyana posted on their blog which subsequently led to public condemnation and accusations of mischief leveled against them. While we do not condone the manner in which the report was published nor condemn the accusations leveled against them, a valued question must be asked.

Was Living Guyana targeted because of their anti-government stance? Our reason for asking that is quite simple (we're a bunch of simpletons over here at Bitch Please), Living Guyana AND Evening News carried this report, BOTH of them subsequently admitted an inaccurate report, apologized and withdrew the comments but yet ONLY Living Guyana has been singled out for criticisms and accusations and sanctions. Why was the Evening News let off so lightly, especially considering that some might say that the news broadcast would reach a wider audience than the blog in question? Who disagrees?

Opinions over here are varied but the general consensus is that the GBTI fiasco finally gave the government, Jagdeo in particular something solid to go after Living Guyana for and they made the most of that opportunity. Sad, not surprising, but true...

The Frequent Flyer is off again

This time our most notorious airline user has whisked himself off to the US. For a small third world country our president sure does tour a lot.
I'm not sure but I'm of the opinion that Jagdeo might be the world's most traveled head of state. The thing though, is that his trips hardly ever brings any direct benefit to us, which begs to wonder if the taxpayers money cannot be better spent...then again, it's the PPP government we're talking about, they lack economic wisdom among other things.

Double Standards coming from a budding dictatorship

I tell ya, with each passing day this government does things that does nothing to help their perception in the eyes of the general public. As I write this I wonder if I can also be classified as part of the new opposition, or if the police will be investigating me sometime soon. It's for that reason I don't report anything, I just speak my mind. Freedom of expression I think is what they call it, or was it Freedom of Speech, either way I think I'm constitutionally covered, but with this government you are never too sure.

All across the world countries and individuals are facing the worst financial crisis in decades and there have been numerous discussions about the crisis, accusations leveled, suggestions offered, criticisms given. The point is, people have been freely talking about the crisis and no one has been censored for their views. Now here we are in Guyana and the signs that democracy is fading is once again showing. This time the government has ordered CNS 6 to cancel a scheduled broadcast of a program discussing the CLICO debacle. It was reported that the television station was allegedly threatened with a lawsuit and another suspension of his license. Now tell me, are these not signs that we are living in a dictatorship? When the government officials head to NCN/GINA and spit out those polished nonsense to the Guyanese public no one tells them anything. The country we're living in I guess...

An afternoon in the National Park

This afternoon after a long while I decided to head out and get some cardiac exercise. This quest for some exercise led to the National Park where I was gonna jog a few miles.

When I entered the park however, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of persons that were using the park for the same purpose as I was and I was truly happy. I was very glad because the perception I had was that many Guyanese are too lazy to get up and get some exercise. I've noted a growing number of fat people around these days and honestly I think most of them allow themselves to become that way so I harbor some disdain for them. But today in the park, I saw that there were quite a few overweight persons who were doing laps very purposefully and I realized that some people really do try to do something about their weight and their health all-together.

I've noticed for a while that people are more health conscious when shopping in the supermarkets or when they're eating out and I must say that it is indeed very commendable that we're taking that step to take care of ourselves. However there are still many lazy people out there and we need to get them healthy. So if you're a jogger or you get some exercise, start encouraging your friend(s) to join you.

For me it was a realization, as I said for the most part I thought fat people are lazy, eat-all, self-pitying individuals who are good subjects for fat people jokes and insults but today in the park, some of them proved me wrong.

Living Guyana is now Dead

Just got my daily dose of the Guyana Times and I was surprised to know that the popular blog Living Guyana has been shut down. I've never been a constant reader of that particular blog but from what I know of it, it was very much popular and anti-government.

I'm not sure if the Government had a role to play in the eventual closure of this blog because of the recent false reporting on the GBTI matter. Last week, however Freddie Kissoon who usually gets most of them right was wrong when he wrote that the Canadians are going to be cutting aid from Guyana a claim, which was later denied by the Canadian authorities. Now is anyone going to censor Freddie for that? I doubt it.

I'm not sure but I would assume that the folks at Living Guyana did not deliberately try to mislead the Guyanese public however with that said, in the current time that we're living with this Global financial crisis which has now spread to our land, a report of that nature should have been fully checked and verified before being published. For a website that was intended to expose the flaws and critiques of the media, Living Guyana broke one of the basic rules of reporting by not fact-checking which is what eventually led to their downfall.

My personal opinion is that I think they had it coming, they had it coming, they had it coming all along. It was only a matter of time before they got it, and now they got it. I'm thinking that they are going to pop up again somewhere, sometime soon.

Quoting Bharrat....this man is really full of nonsense.

I'm gonna quote the president again, this time taken from Stabroek News at the 12th death anniversary ceremony of Cheddi Jagan.

Speaking about reporters her said "some do that because of lack of understanding or to make the government look bad. They are the new opposition"
Well then, somebody's got to do it! It's not like the opposition is doing much. And by the way, have you noticed that once a reporter writes something bad about the government then they are automatically branded 'opposition'?

He then carried on by saying this “There are many good reporters so I don’t want them to say I criticize all the reporters. But some of them are like that and some papers are like that.”
I'm sure the many good reporters and the good paper are those that report for NCN, Times, Chronicle, Mirror and all the other government propaganda machines. Yes Bharrat, reporters are only good when they are the governments' lap dogs right? I really don't know why people are not that appreciative of the independent newspapers in this land.

Then the asshole said "I get so frustrated sometimes at press conferences; I guess it is the ignorance that comes out. What I am frustrated about is that these are the people who have to educate the people…"
What the fuck is his problem? if you want to talk about incompetence, start with your damn fucked up cabinet. You would not hear any decent president anywhere in the world speaking like this. Can you imagine Obama speaking this way, heck no! and Obama is the man Jagdeo wanted to campaign for, I'm not totally certain but I'm pretty sure that Obama would have vehemently refused him. Jagdeo is a liability anywhere he goes.

The reporter's words "He also told the gathering - which was not as large as in previous years"
ahhhhhhhh what can I say other than people are finally realizing that the man they are turning out to remember isn't worth remembering anymore and the party that he founded is not the same party that exists anymore.

Come on Digicel, rid us of those internet charges

No people, I'm not picking on Digicel, it's just that when you use their service you are entitled to ask, even demand certain things from them, so I'm just doing that. I'm fulfilling my role as a customer.

So here I go again. Like many persons (myself included) when Digicel entered the Guyana market we rushed to switched to them because they were fresh and new, with such great promise, but more importantly we had gotten tired of lame ass, exploiting Cellink. But in the time that Digicel has been here, Cellink has made some great improvements to their networks and I must say that they have done a good job. They're giving the red company a good fight for their money and in the end that is just great for the customers. Competition is great. Unlike some people, I do not want GTT to just fold over and let Digicel have the entire mobile market because then we're right back where we were before...so now for customers it just comes down to preference while some people don't make that choice and eventually carry around two phones (myself included).

I have a tendency to ramble on when I get started but here is the gist of this entry, I would like to know if Digicel ever does intend to stop charging us to use the internet on our phone? It's about damn freaking time don't you think? The other network has free internet browsing so why is Digicel charging their customers to use this service? And I must add, it's not a very small charge either. With that in mind, can they really and honestly call themselves "THE BIGGER BETTER NETWORK" I severely doubt that. I have to wonder if they haven't realized that one of the reasons that a lot of Cellink subscribers have retained their numbers is simply because they would like to browse the net and not have to pay for it? Come on Digi, if I wanted to use the net and pay for it, I would find myself at an internet cafe where it costs much less to browse. You guys should really eradicate this particular charge and please don't even get me started on the fact that I have NEVER EVER won anything on a Digicel promotion. That's for another day though...

Congratulations are in order for Ramnaresh Sarwan

All of us, not just in Guyana but in the Caribbean should join in congratulating Ramnaresh Sarwan for a gem of an innings. It was a true masterclass and deserves the unconditional respect and recognition and admiration from anyone who has played or followed the game. It is a great moment for the guyanese people and West Indies cricket all-together.

Currently, another fine Guyanese batsman is ranked number one in test cricket but at this moment, there would be no denying that Sarwan is the best batsman right now. Since I wrote that, You and I should also keep in mind that Chanderpaul was ROBBED when he was playing quite well so there is no telling what he might have gone on to do as well, but ya know what, let us try to forget about those dubious decisions and not let them distract us from this monumental innings that Ramnaresh Sarwan produced.

Watch out for Chetram Singh, Frank Anthony and Bharrat Jagdeo to be dispatching congratulatory letters pretty soon...some people just always want to be involved, even that publicity whore called Robert Persaud might want to get in on the action...anyways congrats Ronnie, you're finally delivering on that promise you've held for so long.

Quoting Bharrat...

"I wouldn't want trade one Ashni Singh for one hundred Christoper Ram"

No matter how much I can't stand the Prezie at times, he does have his moments, and when I heard this, I just had to howl. It was damn freaking funny. Bharrat can be such a frigged up man sometimes.

Digicel -- Sleep Deprivation

Free Night Talk eh? I'm guessing your aim is to deprive the Guyanese people of sleep just so they can use your so-called free service.

Don’t worry GT&T Cellink, we’re coming for you too.
