Get rid of those markings on mini-buses

Monday is the deadline for removal of all markings on public transportation. A deadline I hope that the police enforces.
Some auto designers and graphic artists are already complaining about how this measure is going to negatively impact on their businesses and their survival all together. Some have even gone further to suggest that inspirational messages be allowed usage on public transport. I find this utterly amusing. All these years they barely had a care for inspirational words, now they want them. Let them do without!

One particular graphic artist is quoted in the times as saying “One mini-bus operator would spend over $100,000 for designs for us to do on the bus and now that money is gone.” Well I guess now we know which are of those expensive, essential expenses that mini-bus owners and operators are faced with. Expenses which make it necessary to hike the fares whenever the cost of fuel marginally increases.

Another crackdown that the police should be enforcing is that of no playing of music while on a journey. The lewd, vulgar music that has engulfed our society needs to be removed. Like a parasite, it needs to be squashed. In mini-buses, music promoting hate, discrimination, vulgarity and violence knows no bounds. For a while, the police tried to remove loud music from buses, an effort which has never been successful thus the new approach of getting rid of the music entirely. It’s about damn time.

Society has denigrated into one big vulgar, lawless party and order needs to be restored, and this is probably a good first step but now even in this regard, some operators are calling for inspirational music to be allowed in public transportation at a moderate decibel. The police should be saying NO NO NO!!! What defines moderate? How about inspirational? For some people ‘daggering’ is an inspiration, are we talking about that kind of inspirational? The point is, there is no definite meaning of what constitutes inspirational music, and as sure as I am that Robert Corbin is never going to be president, I am sure that mini-bus operators will flaunt the vague meaning of inspiration. Not to mention, to allow them to play some kind of music will eventually allow to play what they want to play and then we are just back where we started, so really the best thing to do is to allow NO music. Some people might not be happy, those of whom enjoy the music but now Ipods, Mp3 players are there for them, entertain yourself and in the process you won’t be inconveniencing or annoying the person(s) next to you.
