Presidential Quotes and Cultured Ramblings on the Integrity Commission

I'm going to be quoting the President in this post and making some comments of my own. Let's go.

"
when the Members of Parliament, (some) legislators in our land are saying they would not comply with the law that they passed?”
Really Now? The PNC passed that Law? Are you sure Mr. President? Sure the PNC is occasionally in Parliament, but I doubt any of they're members can remember when last they got a bill passed.

"I want to remove any excuse that the opposition leaders have so I may look at probably extending it for a few days"
Can't say I'm surprised, I so expected this from you.

"
“I urge the people of Guyana to look at this as a test case, because if the Leader of the Opposition is urging people to break the law when the law is to ensure financial probity in public life…what moral authority does he have to ever speak about corruption?”
Mr. Jagdeo, what moral authority do you think you have to speak of corruption when you preside over one of the most corrupt governments in the western hemisphere? remember ur henchman at the finance ministry with the duty free letters?

"
they don’t want the people of this country to know what their income level is and what are their assets, the holding of their assets.”
Are you going to declare (honestly) just how you afforded that mansion in prado ville?

"
you should be asking now why is it that some Members of Parliament who have been in Parliament for six-seven years, have not submitted a single declaration when it is required by law and how do they continue to make laws in this country…how do they continue to enjoy the benefits as legislators? This is not a question for me; it’s a question for the people of the country.”
Wow, what a change, suddenly you know that the people of this country have questions? but whenever they want to question you or your government they are termed critics, cynics, unpatriotic among other degrading names. I guess you conveniently decide when the questions of the population should be heard.
