Bus Stops

Sometime in December, the Police did a wonderful thing. They reintroduced bus stops along regent street and I for one must say "It's about time". I know that a lot of people will hate this because it's human nature to be resistant to change and let's face it, we've conditioned ourselves to some rather obnoxious attitudes. The idea that buses stop at any point, at the whim and fancy of drivers and passengers alike is totally disgusting and disorderly. As a people we should come to accept order in society, so it was a great thing for me when I saw that the police were setting up bus stops at strategic points along what is Guyana's busiest shopping area -- an area where vehicular traffic knows no boundaries, where laws are flaunted and lawlessness prevails.
Now that the bus stops have been reintroduced, the police must ensure that they are used for the purpose that they were created. A few trips along regent street have shown that private vehicle owners and other drivers of vehicles other than mini buses continue to park on the area that are clearly marked "BUS ONLY". Maybe these drivers are unaware of the law (pretentious bitches), unable to read (-Ignorant bitches- Maybe they're one of the many asses who bought their license) or they are blatantly flaunting the law (Arrogant bitches- Minister's Kid perhaps) and showing a supreme disrespect for the hardworking policemen of this land. In any case, whatever reasons that these drivers have for parking on the bus only stops is unjustified and I urge the police to do their jobs and deal with these offenders accordingly.
However I must add, that drivers are not the only one disobeying the laws, those folks that stand on the road corners waiting to stop a bus are just as guilty. Why these people can't drag their lazy asses a few more feet to a nearby bus top is beyond me, no wonder so many of them are turning into fat, overweight cows.
Contrary to what a few people think, there are still people in this land who would like to see things run in an orderly manner and I for one am one of them. Of course there are those UN-cultured wretches who just love disorder and would like nothing better for law and order to totally disappear but we urge the police to ensure that this doesn't happen and I urge the good citizens of this land to assist the police in ensuring that this doesn't happen. If you're out and notice someone parked on the bus stops, snap a picture with you're camera or cellphone and send it to us, we'll make sure that it is seen and the offenders are known.
