In her recent allegations against the 
President, the First Lady stated that Mr. Jagdeo works for $200,000 monthly. Now this is the curious part. This fantastically huge, multi multi multi million dollar house that the President built in Ogle. How did he afford it? did he even pay for the land it was built on?
And since His Excellency is calling on all MP's to make their declarations to the Integrity Commission, will he be also making his? The best way to lead is by example Mr. President.
I find it rather surprising that many news organisations in the country seem to be shying away from giving the Varshnie Jagdeo allegations much coverage. Why is that so? While the muted response from NCN, Chronicle and Times is understandable, I hope it's not because of fear of a backlash from the President that has many other news agencies cautious. Probably is it regarded as not being newsworthy but considering the fact that the news has been picked up in the region already, I guess that says that it is news. Come on you guys in the media, do your jobs, report the news!
I heard nothing all day from Ms. Manickchand concerning the allegations of abuse made against her boss by his wife. The President and First Lady respectively.
Priya why are you quiet? are you going to join the litter of hypocrites that the PPP has? I guess what they say is true, if you lie down with the dogs, you are going to get fleas.

In responding to some of Ms. Jagdeo’s claims, the President did not confirm or deny any of the allegations but he did state that he cannot allow state resources to be used for personal reasons by Ms. Jagdeo, regardless of how well intentioned her efforts are. Mr. President, that’s bullshit!
It is more than well known that Ministers in your government use state resources for personal reasons all their time. Vehicles are used to take wives/husbands all across the country, shopping, sporting, jogging or to so may other places. State vehicles are used to transport the kids of ministers to school, work, clubs and where ever they wish to go, and if a vehicle alone is requested by one, it is given so don’t go telling the nation that you couldn’t allow Varshnie to use two state vehicles for the betterment of the citizens in this country, that is nonsense, utter nonsense, even coming from a man who I’m accustomed to hearing a nonsense from.
You were a man I once respected and thoughtly highly of, now you are regarded as a stain against the men of this country, and an even bigger embarrassment to the people of Guyana. You have every attribute of a dog except loyalty, you make me sick, and I’m appalled to know that I’m from the same country as you. I'd call you a sadistic, parsimonious, necrophile, but that would be like beating a dead horse wouldn't it and as of this moment, I get the feeling that if you were a woman Bharrat (I still have my doubts that you’re not), I’d guess you to be one of those mothers who eats their young; you are a cruel savage and a sad excuse for a man!!!!

The story that rocked the country and set tongues wagging is without a doubt the explosive allegations leveled against the President by the First Lady.
In a shocking announcement, Ms. Jagdeo chronicles the years of abuse, torment, frustrations that she endured at the hands of Mr. Jagdeo. Starting with being evicted from the President’s bedroom one week after their wedding and ending with her being kicked out of State House, the First Lady chronicles the years of abuse she endured by our Preident including being financially neglected, having to sleep on a sofa and being torn apart by the mosquitoes, receiving food and accommodation from a relative whenever locked out of her apartment at State House, being denied the opportunity to work, attend functions in the country and around the world, being refused ‘official’ First Lady status when she traveled.
His actions were not just directed to the First Lady as well, Kids First Fund, also suffered terribly. The President refused to give Ms. Jagdeo any support for her charity, denied her the use of vehicles that she previously enjoyed and stymied many of her endeavors, blocked her from attending conferences and fund raising ventures overseas.
Ms. Jagdeo paints the picture of a cruel, vindictive, insensitive, spiteful man, a man that so many in this country profess to love.
Do not expect to hear much of this on the pages of Chronicle, they’re going to have a front page filled with Barack Obama, and NCN will fit in a tiny tiny tiny mention sometime. Expect Criticism to flow from the opposition, independent commentators and newspapers. Outrage will come from the letter writers in the independent newspapers and embarrassment will be provided from the rest of the world. Thank you Mr. President, for showing the world that the men of this country are such fine, model citizens, men and human beings. Thank you!
